JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Together with the municipality's existing community planning strategist, you will be responsible for the municipality's work with comprehensive planning. In close collaboration with the municipality's existing community planning strategist, you will initiate, lead, develop, and coordinate municipality-wide development work related to community planning. The position involves working with overarching issues in various areas of community building such as comprehensive planning, environment, climate, water, regional development issues, infrastructure, rural development, housing supply, program work, and projects. Furthermore, it includes responding to referrals, preparing political decisions, and supporting several functions within the municipality, especially land and development engineers, planning architects, and building permit administrators.

It also involves driving and leading municipality-wide processes that involve several administrations and providing decision-makers with qualified decision-making materials. The community planning strategist should conduct active citizen dialogues, monitor developments in the external environment, and represent Kiruna municipality within the field in various networks and in contacts with businesses, authorities, and organizations. An important part of the work is to work with strategic land issues and manage various land interests.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have an academic education in community planning, physical planning, or another education that the employer deems appropriate, as well as several years of professional experience in the field. You have knowledge of and experience in comprehensive planning. Good knowledge of the community building process such as urban planning, physical planning, community planning, or community building from municipal work is desirable. Experience working with overarching planning projects and investigations, as well as experience and understanding of working in a politically governed organization, is meritorious. You are familiar with PBL and other relevant legislation.

You have good digital maturity and knowledge of GIS software, as well as good proficiency in Swedish and English in both spoken and written form. Experience working with land supply issues such as land purchases is an asset.
